Start at the source, not with offsets

The biggest impact cut is using less material: thinner walls where the formula allows, a smaller closure, and a mono-material construction that a shopper can actually recycle at home. Offsetting after the fact — planting trees for a heavy glass bottle — hides impact instead of removing it. We will tell you plainly when a green option raises price or narrows the colour tolerance.

PCR and FSC in practice

  • Specify PCR at 30–70%; above that, mechanical properties and colour stability fall for many resins.
  • FSC board printed with soy inks is the EU retail baseline and reads as premium, not cheap.
  • Ask for the GRS certificate on recycled plastic so the recycled content is verified, not claimed.

Refill and reuse

Refill systems keep the decorated primary pack in the home and ship a lighter refill. They cut per-use material but add design and logistics cost, so they suit brands with a repeat-purchase model and a willing customer. A refill that costs more to ship than it saves in material is not a win.
