Vegetable Tanned Leather: Naturally tanned, can be hand-dyed to custom colors, environmentally friendly, and free of chemical residue.

Alternative Material: PU Leather (glossy coated) offers both waterproofness and value, weighing as little as 0.8 catties per piece.

Specialized Tools

Cutting Tools: Mercury pen and steel ruler for precise marking, utility knife for layered cutting (multiple cuts are required to achieve a complete cut).

Sewing Tools: Diamond punch (four-tooth size recommended), double-needle waxed thread for sewing, and glue to secure the edges.

Detailing: Use a groover for trimming (suitable for vegetable tanned leather), sandpaper to smooth rough edges, and edge sealant for smoothness.

II. Key Production Processes

Pattern Design and Cutting

Create a basic rectangular pattern (recommended dimensions: 25 x 18 cm). Mark the rounded corners to prevent fraying at right angles.

Cut the leather body and lining fabric in layers, leaving a 0.8-1 cm seam allowance (hard leather requires thinning the seams).

Zipper Installation Tips

Sandwich the leather and lining between the zipper teeth. Glue and secure with double-stitching.

Wrap the zipper end with a small piece of cowhide to prevent the metal from scratching items.

Bag Assembly and Shaping

Align the sides and sew. Cut 3.5 x 3.5 cm triangular notches at the corners to reduce fabric bulk.

After sewing, turn the bag over and use an awl to accentuate the edges. Insert a hard mesh sheet (1-2 mm thick) into the bottom to prevent sagging.

Edge Refinement

Grooving with a groover (depth 1/3 of the leather), followed by nylon webbing to cover raw edges;

Apply edge sealant and sandpaper repeatedly until smooth. Vegetable-tanned leather can be waxed to enhance shine.

III. Processing Solution

Leather Hardness Management:

Pre-sewing leather is treated with a drum softening process to retain toughness and enhance plasticity;

Wet the leather surface before perforating to reduce the risk of breakage.

Stitch Skew Correction:

Sew simultaneously with a double needle from the center to the sides, ensuring even tension with each stitch.

Optimized Closure System:

Magnetic buckles replace zippers (thickness ≤ 1mm) to prevent snagging and provide silent opening and closing.

IV. Men's Design Elements

Simplified Structure: Eliminate the outer pocket and add a single internal pocket for razors.

Color Treatment: Dark vegetable-tanned leather is rubbed for a distressed look, with dark edges pressed to enhance the silhouette.

Upgraded Accessories: Braided cowhide handles with brass D-rings, capable of carrying up to 5kg.

Note:

After cutting, seal the edges of the leather immediately to prevent loose fibers.

Store finished products away from sunlight and apply maintenance oil regularly to prevent drying and cracking.
