Guide to the whole process of developing customized eyeshadow boxes

1. Design details: balance aesthetics and functionality
Appearance process upgrade
Hot matt gold process: the brand logo is processed with matte metal texture to avoid reflection interfering with the user experience. The black and gold color matching is suitable for high-end makeup positioning, and the relief texture is matched to enhance the tactile layering.
Structural adaptation: 1-2mm redundant space needs to be reserved in the groove inside the box cover to ensure that eyeshadow palettes of different thicknesses (such as single-color pressed plates/multi-color platters) can be stably fixed, and circular, hexagonal and other special-shaped groove options are provided to meet differentiated needs.
User interaction design
Modular DIY: Magnet installation slots are reserved in the box body (3mm thick neodymium magnets are recommended), and users can modify it to a magnetic opening and closing design by themselves; the subpackaging solution needs to provide a special mold for curing powder and safe alcohol (purity ≥99%).
Portability optimization: The built-in makeup mirror is recommended to adopt a double-sided design (ordinary mirror + magnifying glass), the edge of the mirror is treated with anti-oxidation coating, and the hinge structure needs to pass 5000 opening and closing tests.
II. Material selection and environmental compliance
Sustainable materials:
The iron box must be made of tinplate (thickness ≥ 0.23mm), the inner wall must be sprayed with a food-grade PE protective layer, and the lid must be equipped with a silicone seal;
PCR recycled polypropylene (recycled material ratio ≥ 30%) is recommended for environmentally friendly plastics, and an SGS non-toxic test report must be provided.
Moisture-proof solution: The desiccant bin is recommended to be designed as a replaceable type, and the capacity is configured according to 5g/100cm³ box volume.
III. Personalized function implementation path
Color management system:
Provide RGB color card comparison table, support Pantone color number and brand custom color naming (such as "Twilight Red");
Multi-color combination trays must be marked with professional parameters such as color rendering (level 1-5), pearlescent ratio, etc.
Cost control strategy:
In the mass production stage, it is recommended to use aluminum alloy for groove molds (unit price is 40% lower than that of steel molds), which can be diluted when the number of molds reaches 100,000 pieces.
4. Customized development standardization process
Requirement confirmation stage (3-5 working days):
Provide 3 styles of reference drafts (cyberpunk/new Chinese style/minimalism) and determine the core process parameters;
Proofing verification stage (15 working days):
Complete 3 rounds of structural tests (including drop, temperature and humidity cycle experiments), the mirror clarity must reach more than 92%;
Mass production preparation stage:
It is recommended to order 5,000 pieces and use FOB trade terms to reduce logistics costs.
